While consulting for WorldBrain in product & engineering, I led efforts in research, development, communications and overall digital product strategy.

Led the full R&D cycle for extending annotations from web pages to PDF documents. Conducted user interviews, created behavioral personas and jobs-to-be-done, investigated technical feasibility, and proposed iterative refactoring to support multiple media formats.

PDF Annotations Feature

Led team efforts to refactor unruly UI components. Made UI controls more modular, testable, performant and error-free for an easier developer experience and successful user experience.

UI Component Refactoring

Profiling and performance tuning to speed up UI interactions. Identified bottlenecks in render cycles and optimized critical paths.

Performance Profiling & Tuning

Assisted the CTO in providing architectural feedback and de-risking big architectural changes, including a new cloud storage implementation. Refactored bottlenecks in maintainability and performance across legacy RPC architecture.

Backend Architecture Consulting

Conducted over 60 user interviews to understand researcher workflows, pain points, and opportunities. Synthesized findings into behavioral personas and jobs-to-be-done frameworks.

User Development Interviews

Investigated browser extension constraints, evaluated platform options, and proposed iterative refactoring approach to minimize risk while adding PDF support.

Technical Feasibility & Architecture

Created strategic roadmap for launching and continued maintenance. Scoped work packages that could be shipped incrementally while building toward the larger vision.
